It’s a unique opportunity that offers one the possibility of losing oneself along a pathway of discovery and copious documentation regarding the history and techniques of enology and all the many aspects of wine growing in the Langhe district.
Each exhibited object encapsulates arcs of peasant life and bears witness to inventiveness and will power. The vast collection of papers and documents offers a suggestive overview of town statutes, grape harvest levies and liabilities, regulations and maps of the Alba wines’ zones of origin.
The cultural work promulgated by Renato Ratti, matching his enological achievements, was fundamental in laying out the exhibition and above all in restoring to the wines everything that was in their orbit across the centuries and had defined the culture in which they were immersed.
